    SKILLS FOR PROGRESS – SKIP is an All India Association for Private Vocational Training Institutes established in 1969, under the Mysore Societies’ Registration Act 1860, to address the advancement of skills training for underprivileged, illiterate and poor school dropout youth, young men and women. The National Secretariat is located at Bangalore.

    We have been a catalyst in contributing to the development of young students, drop outs, underprivileged & tribal youths for over the period of 5 decades and marching towards the jubilee year. India will continue to add millions to its workforce every month for the next decade.

    SKIP having its presence across India, comprise of 220+ Member Institutes who are Industrial Training Institutes commonly called as ITI’s / Industrial Training Centres / Vocational Training Centres. Average around 60,000 youth are trained in more than 60 core trades and 120 advance trades, placed in employment and self-employment opportunities,

    SKIP is instrumental in creating on-the-job trained and skilled workforce to various industries and enterprise start-ups. Cross learning programs with corporates and governments contribute to enhanced income leading to a better quality of life. 30% of these youth are girls and young women and 50% of these students come from rural & tribal areas.

    SKIP enhances the effectiveness of these ITI’s and vocational training institutions by providing high Quality Training Programs like the Management Development Curriculum Development, Industry Institute Linkage, Upgrading and Standardisation of ITIs to Directors and Principal, Employability and Career Development Skills, Life Skills, Work skills and Advanced Training of Trainers ToT programs, Entrepreneurs Development Program and facility, Student exchange programs.

    Social innovations are blooming in a world that has become a global village due to the collapse of geographical and temporal boundaries. Learning by doing is the new mantra for vocational education and skill development. SKIP recognised the unique position to build young generation and focuses on eradicating poverty by building a strong degree life through education and creates a skilled individual that equips them to escape the cycle of poverty.
